MAD Symposium

by

The MAD Symposium is the cornerstone of our programming. On a small island in Copenhagen’s harbor, we assemble the brilliant, influential figures from the cooking world and other disciplines together with a curious, engaged audience. During a two-day immersive experience, attendees discuss the things that matter most in food, like sustainable agriculture, social entrepreneurship, science, health, and creativity. Audience members, often beginning their careers, stand shoulder to shoulder with luminaries like René Redzepi, Ferran Adrìa, Jay Fai, David Chang, Angela Dimayuga, Diana Kennedy, and Vandana Shiva, working together to come up with ways to make food better.

Attendees from around the globe report returning home with a new sense of inspiration, confidence, and community, along with practical ideas to improve their restaurants, workplaces, and communities.

Our latest symposium, MAD6, was held on August 26-27, 2018, bringing the food world together to look at the gap between where we are as an industry today, and where we want to be tomorrow.

The next MAD Symposium will happen in 2021—which is also the year we’re celebrating the Symposium’s 10th anniversary. As usual, we will share more details on the program and how to apply in our newsletter and on social media closer to the event.
